If you need to know anything about Sierpe River Camp, it is first and foremost that we are not your typical business. We didn’t create this nature lodge with the desire to make the largest amount of money possible, charging tourists for every last dollar that we possibly can. No, Sierpe is our home that we cherish, and we want to provide other people with the opportunity to have an authentic nature escape to come to love Sierpe as much as we do. We are a family run business through and through, and we charge you the bare minimum cost to continue operating our business. We promise, you won’t find the same family service in an authentic nature escape at this price anywhere else in Costa Rica!
Sierpe River Camp is located far from civilized life, far from the noise of cars, people, and the infinite number of machines we surround ourselves with. We’ve created an area to rest, to be at peace, to connect with yourself and with nature. Our entertainment here is our environment: the sunrise, soft movements of the river, visiting animal friends, and the singing of birds, filling the surrounding forest with a song of life. Directly from the property we offer a variety of guided private tours to please a wide array of desires, such as exploration, adventure, and relaxation (check out a few of the tours we specialize in here). Though our name includes the name “camp”, we use this word only to describe that our establishment is far out in nature, like a camp would be. We offer all the basic services you’ll need, including wifi.
In order to get to the property, you must first take a boat from the town of Sierpe about 30 minutes down river. We told you we were far from the noise of civilization didn’t we! During this boat ride, you’ll begin to get aquainted with the environment you’ll be calling home for the next couple days. You’ll have the opportunity to see some of the countless wild species that call Sierpe home, and will catch a glimpse of the enormity of the river system that you’ll be staying in the middle of.

“I came to Carlos’s place before proceeding to Drake Bay and it was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience. Staying in a place accessible by boat, directly on the Sierpe river, and disconnected from everything will bring you peace and happiness like non other. The boat ride, the nature surrounding you the wildlife, the views.. words can’t even describe how beautiful! Carlos was very accommodating; he and his mom provided amazing meals, and great hospitality. I also recommend going with Carlos in his boat rather than the taxi boat as he will give you a little tour of the river on the way. This is truly a place to unwind and reconnect with nature. You will also see MANY animals, including crocodiles in the river right out front. Carlos will also help with any activities you might want to do! I miss being at this place but will be returning without question!”
