Poor Man’s Dream

Right off of the Sierpe River is Poor Man’s Dream, a hidden gem. Poor Man’s Dream is a secluded hotel that lies on picturesque grounds covered with flowers that aren’t visible from the riverside. The owner, Johnny Barboza Albarado, describes his hotel as a small, cozy and tranquil place. It was built on the land of his ancestors, about 29 hectares of land. The hotel offers various tours and activities to guests including:

  • Whale tours (during migration season)
  • Corcovado National Park tours
  • Caño Island tours
  • Sport fishing tours
  • River fishing tours
  • Snorkeling tours

In addition to providing tours and activities, Poor Man’s Dream offers spacious cabins with private bathrooms. The rooms are surrounded by gardens of roughly 40 species of beautiful heliconia flowers.
