“Destination Earth’s next chapter: what’s in store for the EO community?<\/strong>” is an online EOcafe webinar dedicated to the next steps of Destination Earth (DestinE).<\/p>\n

Led by the European Commission\u2019s Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology <\/a><\/strong>(DG CONNECT) and implemented by European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts<\/a><\/strong> (ECMWF), European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites<\/a><\/strong> (EUMETSAT) and European Space Agency<\/strong> <\/a>(ESA), the first phase (launched in December 2021) established the core components: the Climate Change Adaptation and Weather-Induced Extremes Digital Twins, the Digital Twin Engine, the Data Lake and the DestinE Platform.<\/p>\n

The second phase<\/strong>, starting in June 2024, focused on operationalisation and user uptake, with over 6,000 registered users<\/strong>, more than 30 services available<\/strong>, and an increased integration of AI and machine learning across the system.<\/p>\n

In this EOcafe session, hosted by Emmanuel Pajot<\/strong>, Secretary General of European Association of Remote Sensing Companies<\/strong> <\/a>(EARSC), Irina Sandu<\/strong> and Charalampos Tsitlakidis<\/strong> will discuss the main achievements of the first two phases, the strategic priorities for Phase Three and the opportunities for the Earth observation industry, including how companies can get involved.<\/p>\n

The webinar is open to all<\/strong>. Registration<\/strong> is free<\/strong> but compulsory<\/strong>. This is a fully virtual event.<\/p>\n
